Start writing the job dThe Priority Center is seeking an on-call, Per Diem Crisis Clinician for its Adult In-Home Crisis Stabilization Program (AIHCS). Our mission is to deliver life-changing programs to assist people in crisis by giving them the tools and support necessary to end the generational cycle of trauma- including prevention of child abuse and neglect, through early intervention and mental health services and advocacy.
The Adult In-Home Crisis Stabilization Program (AIHCS) serves suicidal and homicidal adults who can’t be hospitalized, in order to diffuse the crisis, promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent suicidal and homicidal acts. This program has a field-based treatment team consisting of clinicians, case managers and peer mentors. The program is a three-phase model:
- Assessment of the client and support network to identify short term needs and de-escalation
- Individual and family therapy, outreach, peer mentor, and case management services
- Prepare client and family/support network for progression towards long term resolution and treatment.
The on-call, Per Diem Unlicensed Clinician serves as a liaison between adults/families and systems, and provides on a 24/7 basis, intake and assessment services to individuals experiencing an urgent mental health situation depending on the needs and expectations of each adult and family in the AIHCS program for The Priority Center.
**This position is on-call, weekends, per diem on an intermittent basis as needed. The specific hours of this position will be discussed with supervision.**

Goals
- Be part of a field-based crisis team that responds to crisis line calls 24/7 throughout the community.
- Complete documentation as required by the Program Director and/or Program Supervisor in a timely manner and meets the standards of County of Orange Health Care Agency (HCA), HIPPA, Medi-Cal and other funding sources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 crisis intervention and critical safety management services in the home or Crisis Stabilization Unit facility to best accommodate the adult and family’s schedule.
- Conduct a thorough clinical assessment including chief complaint, history, mental status, needs of family, disposition, and focused on the crisis and safety concerns.
- Participate as a member of multi-disciplinary team in treatment plan reviews of adults as needed.
- Consult, confer and coordinate with referring and other community agencies and resources to advocate for the mental health needs of the adult/family.
- Document all services provided for HCA contract compliance, as well as financial,
- statistical and other reporting purposes.
- Assess client safety, write 5150 hold (to involuntarily confine a person suspected to have a mental disorder that makes them a danger to themselves, a danger to others, and/or gravely disabled) upon LPS designation.
Supervisor Relationship
- Supervised by the Program Director and/or Program Supervisor
Position Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field
- Two years’ experience preferred
- Valid California driver’s license
- Current auto insurance and access to reliable transportation
- Live Scan fingerprinting required
- Experience with families and adults is highly preferred
- Bilingual Spanish desirable
- Registration with California BBS required
Compensation
This is an on-call, non-exempt, per diem position with a pay rate of $25 per hour for trainings, meetings, & supervision, and an on-call stipend rate of $125 per in-take and $20 per call.
