The Priority Center seeks an on-call, per diem Crisis Clinician for its Children’s In-Home Crisis Stabilization Program.

 

The Children’s In-Home Crisis Stabilization Program (CIHCS) serves suicidal and homicidal children who can’t be hospitalized, to diffuse the crisis, promote a healthy family, prevent suicide, and keep the family unit together. The children served in the program are typically between 5-18 years of age and referred to us through the County Contract of a Mental Health Program. The Program Services provided are field-based crisis services that include short-term in-home therapy (individual and group), case management, and mental health rehabilitation, with a focus on maintaining family stabilization and preventing hospitalization.

 

The on-call, per diem Crisis Clinician serves as a liaison between children/families and systems and provides on a 24/7 basis, intake and assessment services to individuals experiencing an urgent mental health situation depending on the needs and expectations of each child and family in the CIHCS program for The Priority Center.

 

**Position is on-call, per diem on an intermittent basis as needed between 5:00 pm Friday through 7:00 am Monday. Position may also provide services Monday through Thursday from 5:00 pm through 7:00 am.**

 

**The per diem Crisis Clinician’s status will be per diem, non-exempt at a pay rate of $25 per hour for training & meetings, and a stipend of $125 per face-to-face interaction, $80 per phone/telehealth intake, and $20 per phone admission.**

Goals

  • Be part of a field-based crisis team that responds to crisis line calls 24/7 throughout the community.
  • Complete documentation as required by the Program Director and/or Program Supervisor in a timely manner and meets the standards of the County of Orange Health Care Agency (HCA), HIPPA, Medi-Cal and other funding sources.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 crisis intervention and critical safety management services in the home or elsewhere to best accommodate the child and family’s schedule.
  • Conduct a thorough intake in order to have the client successfully enrolled in the program, and extensively safety plan with the client and family to ensure overall safety.
  • Consult, confer, and coordinate with referring and other community agencies and resources to advocate for the mental health needs of the child/family.
  • Document all services provided for HCA contract compliance, as well as financial, statistical, and other reporting purposes.

 

Supervisory Relationship

  • Supervised by the Program Director and/or Program Supervisor

 

Position Qualifications

  • Cannot have additional employment with an Orange County funded program
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field
  • Two years’ experience preferred
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Live Scan fingerprinting required
  • Experience with families and children is highly preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish required
  • Registration with California BBS required

 

Compensation:

This is an on-call, per diem position with a pay rate of $25 per hour for trainings & meetings, a stipend of $125 per face-to-face interaction, $80 per phone/telehealth intake, and $20 per phone admission.
